For the Spring-Summer 2025 show, the iconic French Maison returned to the Grand Palais for the first time in four years.

Under a ray of sunlight filtering through the freshly renovated glass roof of the Grand Palais, the Chanel Spring-Summer 2025 show took place. While no new creative director has been announced to take over from Virginie Viard, guests speculated about the possible future successor but were mostly eager to enter the giant birdcage installed at the center of the Palais. This was a nod to a Chanel advertisement directed by Jean-Paul Goude and embodied by Vanessa Paradis&mdash;who was present among the guests. The Chanel creative studio took on the heavy task of bringing the next collection of one of the most prestigious and profitable houses in the luxury industry to life, revealing hand-knitted pieces inspired by the imposing iron and steel structures of Art Deco style, skirts with slits, collars made of layers of soft feathers, chiffon capes, platform shoes, and, of course, the signature tweeds, reimagined in pastel shades. For a grand finale, Riley Keough soared into the air while humming Prince&rsquo;s When Doves Cry, perched on a swing inside the birdcage.
