When everyone else is dreaming of flying South for the Winter months to escape the cold, here at L'Officiel we relish in the idea of colder climate holidays in Gstaad, St. Moritz, Courchevel and Aspen for ski, and of course, the “après.”

When it comes to the jet set ski destinations to which the denizens of society pages, billionaires and celebrities flock, vacationers and locals alike take their Winter style exceptionally seriously. So much so that some would consider it worthy of being an Olympic sport.

The sartorial efforts of investing in high-quality items to express one's personality and individual sense of style applies as much to the slopes and off-piste adventures as they do to  everyday work and city life.

On that note we have a little secret to let you in on that will set you apart from the rest of the snowsuited and ski booted crowd in powder heaven:

Chrome Hearts has dropped its “Silver Morning” snow goggles, a testament to their longstanding reputation for combining high design with functionality and practicality since it was founded in 1998.

Subsequently launching its eyewear line in 2000, Chrome Hearts has been leading the industry with the art of artisanal lenses.

With a USD $1,550 price tag, these design-forward, impeccably crafted “peeper protectors" may cost a pretty penny, but they are a worthy lifestyle investment.

Designed with high performance at the core, the goggles feature Carl Zeiss all-round lenses as well as an additional low-light lense to enhance contrast in harsh weather and limited lighting conditions (which is interchangeable through a lens clasp feature).

Each pair is constructed using a TR90 material: an ultra-durable, lightweight and flexible thermoplastic; and features silicone rubber accents.

There is nothing more annoying than ski goggles fogging up (which seems to be inevitable no matter how much you try to prevent it). Well, Chrome Hearts has resolved this design issue too: the goggles feature a moisture wicking triple-layer foam with full-perimeter vents to ensure maximum airflow and a fog-free view in all conditions. (Thank you, at last!)

The collection of goggles is offered in four colorways: Faded Black, Steely Red, White Out, and a limited edition Slime Green. (By the time you read this, the Slime Green limited run is already sold out, unfortunately. But, congrats to the lucky few who managed to get their paws on a pair before they quickly sold out online. You have the most coveted pair of goggles on the slopes)

True to the brand’s signature, the goggles are embellished with elements of silver, stylized crosses, and Old English font.

Detail-wise, each pair features a rubber Double Floral Cross motif across the bridge and rubber CH Crosses. A Chrome Hearts piece would not be a Chrome Hearts piece without a touch of precious metal integrated: you will find a .925 Sterling or 18k gold plated CH Scroll on the outrigger.

The 50mm strap comes in various Chrome Hearts graphic patterns with a silicone lining to provide a more secure fit. All goggles include a microfiber bag that doubles as a cleaning cloth and a custom velvet-lined Lycra® hard carrying case that house both the goggles and the spare lens.

We are big believers and true appreciators of Chrome Hearts. What ultimately sums up the brand is one word: heart. No pun intended. It’s just what you see and feel in every single item that Chrome Hearts produces, especially when you dig into the history and story behind the brand (we won't go into the details but we highly recommend that you do some Googling). Conceived in 1988 by Richard & Laurie Lynn Stark in Los Angeles, the company remains all in the family: it is now operated alongside their children Jesse Jo, Frankie Belle & Kristian Stark. They invest a great deal of heart into everything - time, energy, thoughtfulness, artisanal craftsmanship, emphasis on the highest level of quality.

They have the credentials and accolades to back this up, including (among many other recognitions): a CFDA Accessory Designer of the Year Award.  It comes as no surprise that the brand has amassed a cult following of music legends and celebrities as supporters including The Sex Pistols, Guns ‘n’ Roses, The Motley Crue, Cher, the late Karl Lagerfeld, Rihanna, Drake, Jay-Z, Claudia Schiffer, Irina Shayk, and Bella Hadid.  Always in the good company of industry peers, Chrome Hearts has released capsule collections and special projects in partnership with fashion design legends including the late Virgil Abloh (RIP) and his brand Off-White, Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons, and Rick Owens.

These newly released goggles are yet another example of the heart that the Starks put into everything.

Available at Chrome Hearts stores worldwide and select optical boutiques, you had better get your ski gloves on a pair of these goggles while you still can. These cool climate essentials are a hot commodity.

Time to hit the slopes, happy trails!
