With the theme “Va’ dove ti porta il vento”—Italian for “Go where the wind takes you”—this upcoming Flags for Future exhibition at The Standard Miami hosted by D’Puglia uses the universal symbolism of flags to spark conversations about urgent environmental challenges. Combining art and sustainability, Flags for Future highlights the necessity of collective action and the transformative power of creativity to inspire meaningful change.

In Miami at The Standard, where a deep respect for nature is woven into the hotels culture, Flags for Future finds a kindred spirit. The project’s dedication to environmental responsibility echoes the island’s ethos, where conservation efforts and artistic expression intertwine seamlessly. In each iteration, the exhibition brings its message to an international audience in a new location, showcasing flags crafted from upcycled fabric materials made from recycled plastic waste.

The exhibition features contributions from more than 40 artists globally, each presenting a unique perspective on sustainability through their designs. This year’s edition introduces eight new flags, expanding the project’s reach. Among the newest additions are pieces by artists Cosma Frascina, Antonio Aricò, Peter Matthews, ADD FUEL as well as Cleon Peterson, Feleksan-Onar, Helen Beard, et Kate MccGwire.
