A spotlight on Enoc Perez, a critically acclaimed multidisciplinary artist living and working in Brooklyn, New York, and his recent donation to St Barths&rsquo; Green Hearts Gala, taking place on January 3rd, 2024.

The unifying idea behind Perez&rsquo;s pieces are their context within the history of contemporary painting in New York, according to the artist. Taking inspiration from New York greats like Andy Warhol, his works are a method for him to build a relationship with the history of New York City&rsquo;s art. Using a unique modified monotype printmaking style, Perez is able to fuse classic methods of oil painting with his contemporary printmaking style, a style that begins with photography and takes cues from monoptype. His subject matter is often his everyday surroundings, depicting emblematic buildings in New York or those he encounters during his personal travels. Perez's artworks sit in the collections of major museums including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; The Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; The British Museum, London; Yale University Art Gallery, New Haven; New York Public Library; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington DC; and The Museum of Contemporary Art, San Juan, Puerto Rico.

This year Perez has donated a work entitled &ldquo;Rum Sour&rdquo; for the Green Hearts Gala auction event taking place in St Barth on January 3rd 2024. The event is to support the environment of St Barth and the heart health of its inhabitants. The piece donated to the cause is reflective of the artist&rsquo;s style, bringing his signature printer&rsquo;s eye to oil painting and cementing history in the everyday. The piece is one of many stunning works donated for the important cause, and is sure to cause a buzz on the night.
