Nicholas Ghesqui&egrave;re's 2024 creations evoke a blend of mystical mermaids and botanical fairies reminiscent of Shakespeare&rsquo;s &laquo; A Midsummer Night&rsquo;s Dream. &raquo;&nbsp;

Less than a month after its Pre-Fall show in Seoul, Korea, Louis Vuitton touched down in Northern Italy&rsquo;s Lake District for its next destination runway, the 2024 Cruise collection. Rather than taking the expected route of yacht destinations such as the South of France, Monaco, Greece, and St Barth&nbsp;to present a cruise collection, the House chose the land of Riva boats and Italian summer getaways:&nbsp; Lake Maggiore, the next door neighbor to Lake Como.&nbsp; On the island of Isola Bella, tucked away amid the gardens landscaped and manicured to perfection, lies a centuries-old castle Palazzo Borromeo - the setting for the show, and the stuff that fairytales are made of.&nbsp;Although the Baroque Era castle was conceptualised and started construction in the 1700s, it took 400 years for it to be completed post-World War II. To this day or remains in the Borromeo family as a Summer residence.

This was first time Louis Vuitton unveiled a collection in Italy, and it was nothing less than impressive&hellip; even with the weather being anything but fair.

Although the vision was to have a beautiful sherbet sunset sky as the backdrop, Mother Nature had other plans, with a rain-drenched setting as the reality that the Maison had no choice but to cooperate with.

With that, the castle doors were opened to guests for the presentation to take place within its majestic walls. Not too shabby of a Plan B compromise.&nbsp; Louis Vuitton did manage to have its official runway shots taken in the original outdoor setting, to distribute and display to the world at large.

Inspired by the mystique of what lies below the lake&rsquo;s surface, and the botanical beauty surrounding it on land, Creative Director Nicholas Ghesquiere&rsquo;s latest collection evokes a mix of ethereal mermaids emerging from the water with forest fairies from Shakespeare&rsquo;s &laquo;&nbsp;A Midsummer Night&rsquo;s Dream."

&ldquo;I was very attracted by the story around the lake, its fairy-tale creatures,&rdquo; said the designer ahead of the show, pointing out that he wanted the first models to convey &ldquo;the feeling they are coming out of the water, they are the explorers of the lake, beautiful creatures, almost like the mythological lake mermaids with dragon wings.&rdquo;

Known for not only attracting but also contracting as global brand ambassadors some of the world&rsquo;s most admired A-llst talent, the attendance was an intimate gathering with leading ladies and a few gents, including Cate Blanchett, Emma Stone, L&eacute;a Seydoux, Jennifer Connelly, Alicia Vikander, Catherine Deneuve, Oprah Winfrey, and Jaden Smith.
