On Tuesday, September 29, Jonathan Anderson unveiled Dior’s Spring/Summer 2027 women’s collection during Paris Fashion Week. Drawing on the house’s heritage, the collection brings together familiar signatures and a more contemporary shaped by nature vision.&nbsp; <o:p></o:p>

A GARDEN IN MOTION <o:p></o:p>
This Tuesday, Dior does not shut itself away in a hall: the house steps outside and takes everyone with it to the Tuileries Garden.<o:p></o:p>
Around the Octagonal Basin, nature takes the place of the set: camphor trees stand on either side of the runway, and beneath it, an artificial mist drifts across the pond, like the one that glides over the water of a lake or the sea.<o:p></o:p>
The park is no longer a backdrop, it becomes a living stage. When the silhouettes appear, they do not just walk through the garden, they belong to it like real flowers, emerging from the mist as if the collection had grown at the same time as the trees.<o:p></o:p>
Jonathan Anderson does not build a set, he grows a show.<o:p></o:p>

REWRITING THE DIOR LEGACY<o:p></o:p>
Dior has no need to wipe the slate clean, since its history already holds all the keys to reinvention.<o:p></o:p>
The Bar jacket and the Medallion jacket, two emblematic pieces of the Dior House, are brought up to date by Jonathan Anderson : the first one retains its signature nipped-in waist and defined hips, while the second offers a more contemporary take on the house’s tailoring codes. Rather than reproducing these archival designs, Anderson sets it against light and airy pants. Rigour on one side, movement and lightness on the other: what was an archive silhouette becomes a living one. <o:p></o:p>And then there are the flowers, everywhere. Printed, embroidered, but also hidden in the cuts: the little bell-shaped flared trousers extend the leg like a corolla. <o:p></o:p>The fabrics dictate the shape gently: silk glides while organza floats. <o:p></o:p>The colours follow the same movement: ivory, powder pink, sage green, and touches of navy blue to anchor the whole.<o:p></o:p>
Christian Dior made woman into a flower, Anderson simply places her back in a garden. <o:p></o:p>These historical codes are not simple relics, they are roots from which Anderson draws something new every season.&nbsp;<o:p></o:p>This is the longevity of the house: a heritage that is cultivated.<o:p></o:p>

THE BEAUTY OF IMPERFECTION<o:p></o:p>
Everything begins with two walnuts slipped into the invitation. 
<o:p></o:p>They refer to the wénwán (文玩核桃), a Chinese tradition that consists of rolling two walnuts in the hollow of one's hand, a ritual that, it is said, massages the acupuncture points. Over the years, the natural oils of the skin settle on the shell, which gradually polishes and takes on a smooth, glossy patina, almost like jade.<o:p></o:p>
Nothing is achieved all at once: it is time that makes the object precious. This is the metaphor for craftsmanship and luxury artisanship, where what takes time is also what lasts.<o:p></o:p>
In China, these walnuts are also true talismans: they symbolise longevity and good fortune, a nod to Christian Dior himself, who was very superstitious.<o:p></o:p>
In the teasers, we could already make out a wild tree and waves crashing against the rocks: an ode to nature. <o:p></o:p>Flora has always been part of Dior's DNA, and Jonathan Anderson had already explored it with his chrysanthemums in past seasons. Here, it becomes freer, more organic, and slips into the smallest details: datura flower earrings, heels adorned with white floral motifs, clutch bags shaped like swans or fruit. 
<o:p></o:p>It is from nature that asymmetry is born, the common thread of the collection: the two walnuts, never quite identical in size or shape, are proof of it. "Perfect symmetry is elusive." <o:p></o:p>On the runway, Anderson applies this idea to perfection. Skirts free themselves from every rule: bias cuts, pleats running in every direction, hems that rise on one side and fall on the other. Silhouettes come undone as lines shift: every code is reinterpreted.<o:p></o:p>
These two walnuts ultimately say it all: the preciousness found in nature, flora as an everlasting source of inspiration, and imperfection transformed into a form of perfection.<o:p></o:p>
Dior does not seek perfect symmetry, it celebrates the perfection of asymmetry.<o:p></o:p>
One last nod remains: in May, the house will present its Cruise show in Shanghai, a discreet bridge between Paris and Asia.<o:p></o:p>
